General Questions

What is a charter school?
“Charter schools are independent public schools allowed freedom to be more innovative, while being held accountable for improved student achievement. They foster a partnership between parents, teachers and students to create an environment in which parents can be more involved, teachers are given the freedom to innovate and students are provided the structure they need to learn, with all three held accountable for improved student achievement.” *The National Alliance for Public Charter Schools.

How can I volunteer?
Parent volunteerism is an important part of SFCS.  We depend on our parents to share their talents and time to help make our school successful. Please let your child's classroom teacher and/or the principal know that you would like to volunteer. Our volunteers help as Room Parents, Library Volunteers, Chaperones, and small projects around the school. All volunteers must complete a Criminal Background Check before volunteering. Please check in the office for forms. Allow three weeks to complete the background check before volunteering.

How can I support Strong Foundations?
As a public school, Strong Foundations does not charge tuition, yet the school will receive less than half of what the average cost per student is in New Hampshire. So that students at Strong Foundations can have equity with other public school students, you can make a difference by making a donation.

*Donations may be made to our 501(c)(3), allowing for a tax-deductible donation. Please check with your tax preparer regarding your eligibility.
